Wolverhampton business Wow! Stuff is to produce products featuring the official emoji brand.
It signed up with London-based Global Merchandising Services, ahead of the product launch at the Spring Fair at Birmingham NEC.
The leading innovative licensed gifts manufacturer and distributor’s chief excutive Richard North said: “I think many gift and toy companies have been looking to create ‘Emoji style’ products over the last 12 months. We are very pleased to have signed the official emoji brand.
“There’s a great fit between our two companies and the extensive art, trademark and style guide that come with emoji and the protection of it in these categories ensures retailers and their consumers are getting great original product. This is going to be a phenomenal brand and a very broad range which resonates with anyone who is mobile device aware – which of course is probably 99 per cent of the population.”
Gabbi Langdorf, Senior Licensing Manager at Global Merchandising Services, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Wow! Stuff and are looking forward to working with them to create a range of fun and innovative giftware for emoji.
"By combining Wow! Stuff’s creativity and innovation in this sector with the extensive artwork available to the official emoji licensees, we can create an exciting gift range which will appeal to consumers and retailers alike."
The range includes electronic multi-bake timers, personalised bake tins, bound baking journals, ceramic baking beans, aprons and mugs.
Wow! Stuff hopes to grow by 30 per cent on the back of the new range, which is being made in Hong Kong, and says it will create between six and 10 jobs in Wolverhampton in sales, marketing and distribution.
Wow! Stuff’s other licenses include; The Science Museum, Danger Mouse, Mensa, BBC Doctor Who, Natural History Museum, QI, Men are from Mars novelty gifts, LLO design led gifts and Mr Men & Little Miss.
