The team is expanding to support ongoing development of the company portfolio as Wow! Stuff takes on more top tier licensed brands.
Wow! Stuff has been recruiting consistently over the last year, despite the challenges and restrictions that Covid-19 has presented. “The existing team has been absolutely amazing throughout the pandemic,” said CEO Richard North, “It’s always a moment to celebrate when great people choose to work at Wow! Stuff.”
Richard told us more about the company’s recruitment process. “When we recruit new Wow! Stuff’ers, they have to be aligned with our culture of doing ‘Wow’, our beliefs and ambitions,” he explained. “We treat the process as a two-way interview. It’s a bit like a Wizarding World wand that chooses its new owner; when we find someone we think fits, it’s important they feel it too.”
As Wow! Stuff continues to increase its tier 1 licensed brand signings, most recently taking on such properties as Love, Diana, Jurassic World and Peppa Pig, the team has identified a need to develop the already impressive innovation at the company. Bringing on the latest raft of new recruits has been done with this in mind.
Wow’s latest recruits are:
Ross Coffield, who joins as design co-ordinator, having previously been product development manager at Consumer Electronics company Skoog and prior to that senior product design engineer at Vivid
Teddy Edwards, who will take on the role of senior product designer following experience at BNC Universal, working as EMEA Hardlines product developer on key brands including Jurassic World and Minions
Steve Carpenter, who joins as product design engineer, bringing expertise from working in product research and development at a major licensed gifts manufacturer and in licensing and patenting toys worldwide
Chris Jobson, who will join as product designer, following a career including spells at Toys R Us and gifts and gadgets company Thumbs Up (UK) Ltd.
Manmit Bansal has also joined the Wow! Stuff internal Amazon team as a sales operation support officer, working on sales of the company’s key licensed brands. Manmit brings experience of working as a merchandiser’s assistant at Sainsbury’s and has also held various supply chain roles.
Richard said he is thrilled to welcome the new team members to the company, to support the ongoing innovation at Wow! Stuff and reflect the company ethos of ‘Great Brands Brought to Life.’ The company’s stated mission is ‘to work until our brains hurt to deliver toys and pop-culture gifts that are really innovative, on-brand, in universe, always.’
With offices located in Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Wolverhampton, Wow! Stuff has won multiple awards and global recognition for its unique tech-toys and world first inventions, is a three times TOTY (Toy Of The Year) award nominee and winner of the Innovation award at the 2020 TOTY’s.
